Inspirational Poem Intro:
Here's another inspirational poem. I thought I'd take something as banal as grass, which we take for granted, and explore its everyday presence.
I find it amazing when we pause to consider the ordinary, only to uncover the depth of beauty we so easily overlook.
So, here it is:
Meadow's Choice
But not unaffected by the travails of life
'Tis vulnerable to human and animal touch
Though blessed by sun and wet, whether rain,
sleet or snow as such
Rested upon, sat upon, taken for granted indeed
Everywhere green, its beauty not breathtaking
Unless adorned with the prairie's blossom
And unabashed it still remains offering its grassy strands
to embrace and immerse with a lover's rest
Steeped in silence, it never complains
'Tis free to experience the tending or cruelty of each
But its grassy presence, its omnipresence
Has special friends too, those who on its greenery chew
and fond overlords tall with sprawling upward limbs that crawl
Its skyward chums peck beneath it to feed
Wriggling worms their welcoming beaks do greet
Buttercups and daisies giggling children pick
Flower chains they're sporting, making the grassy coating
a place of merriment so sweet.
And so...
